I went to visit my family in Georgia back in September, and it was food coma overload. But one thing that stood out the most was my Great Aunt’s chicken wings. I knew immediately that I had to ask her for the recipe after the first bite. The tricky thing was that there was no exact recipe. She told me the ingredients and took out some leftover sauce from the fridge. Here I thought that she was going to give me some of the sauce to recreate.. but I was wrong. Instead, she took out a spoon and told me to taste it. I told her that it was delicious and she said, “Ok, just remember that, and make it at home.” If you know Korean cooking, then this is all too common. Luckily, the sauce is similar to your basic bulgogi sauce, so it wasn’t too hard to recreate. “The sauce should just taste good.” Ok, Great Aunt. Thanks! Haha.

How to Make Jjajangmyeon 짜장면 (Noodles with Black Bean Sauce)
Is your mouth watering all ready just by looking at the pic? Mine is. Jjajangmyeon 짜장면 is a dish that has noodles with black bean sauce. If you've watched some Korean dramas, most likely they will be seen eating this dish as it's fast and cheap. If you don't have a Korean Chinese restaurant nearby you, don't fret! You can easily make this dish at home, and it might even taste better! ;)

Korean Weight Standards
When it comes to weight issues, it is definitely something that I deal with on a daily basis. I have my ups and downs, and it’s been an ongoing battle for many, many years. When I was younger, I was actually quite thin. It wasn’t until I hit puberty around 9 when I started gaining a significant amount of weight. Now, I’m not blaming my sole weight gain on the fact I was starting puberty, but I’m sure some of the weight was from it. I was active in sports like swimming, basketball, and soccer. None of these contributed to any weight loss, and honestly at that age, it wasn’t a real concern then. You’re a kid; be a kid!

A Sister from Another Mister
Bien Venidos!
My name is Annie, and I have been asked to contribute to my cousin
Angela’s blog. For my first post,
I decided to introduce myself by explaining in detail my relationship with my
cousin, and provide some insight on the most embarrassing secrets that she
probably doesn’t even remember and would not appreciate me telling.

The Ahjumma Hair
If you grew up in an Asian family, I’m sure you might have
had your share of hair perms aka The Ahjumma Hair / Ahjumma Perm or know someone who has. Ahjumma means “older lady”
in Korean. Lots of older ladies and grandmothers like to sport this poofy,
curly hair. It’s not only stylish to them, but it’s also a form of convenience
as it’s a very low maintenance hairstyle. I swear, from the moment I was born,
it seemed as though my mother has had my hair permed. Looking back at childhood
pics, I have always don the ahjumma hair. I would admit in some pics I looked
kind of cute, but for the most part I looked like a 50 year old lady stuck in
the body of a 5 year old.
